If you are one of my regular listeners, you’re probably wondering why there is an additional episode this week. Well, today I have something special for you. I’ve decided to do an extra series of podcast episodes for bookkeepers, but don’t worry, my normal weekly podcasts will drop at their regular times. I know that the listeners of this podcast are made up of a mixture of entrepreneurs who either what to start their own business, they are self-employed, solopreneurs, small business owners, bookkeepers and virtual assistants. Since I provide information on managing your small business finances, this mixture of listeners is expected, but I wanted to have a series of podcast episodes for individuals that will focus on bookkeepers, those who are thinking about or want to start a bookkeeping business or already have a bookkeeping business but want to grow or scale their existing bookkeeping business. If you are a business owner and you are wondering if you should be doing your own bookkeeping, this episode will be helpful for you as well, and you may learn a thing or two about doing your own bookkeeping. I know that bookkeepers are in demand, and this is the time of the year when business owners are searching for bookkeepers to help them with their finances, whether they are using QuickBooks, Xero, Wave or a spreadsheet like Xcel or Google Sheets. Investing in yourself is important, and you as a business owner or potential business owner need to understand how valuable you are personally to your business. I know your time is limited and cherished. You may be thinking that if you are not working in your business and generating money that you aren’t being successful. But I want you to take a step back and see just how important you, yes you, are to your business. Imagine for a minute that you were taken completely out of your business. How would your business continue? Would it run smoothly without you, or would it completely stop? When you take note of the impact you are making on your business, you may think twice about how you should be investing in yourself. When investing in yourself, each and every one of these investments will ultimately pass through to your business. This is the exact reason why it is so crucial for you to continue to invest in yourself to help your business flourish. I believe it was Tony Robbins who said, “If you are not growing, you are dying.” Let that sink in for a bit. So, if you personally are not growing, how would you be able to lead your business to grow? In today’s episode, I am talking about the top ways you can invest in yourself. I’m not saying you need to spend lots of money to do this, I’ll be talking about lots of ways you can do this for free or with little monetary investment. The goal here is to realize you need to do this and start on a path to continuously invest in yourself and continue to grow as a business owner. Since my previous podcast on The Great Resignation episode number 49, I have had quite a few conversations with entrepreneurs just like you who are thinking about starting their own business but are unsure if it is right for them. Stress Relief. That’s what I am here to help you with when it comes to your business finances and particularly your bookkeeping, which is why today I am giving you 3 tips to keep your bookkeeping up to date. I know this is the time of the year when most business owners realize they may have fallen behind in their bookkeeping and they start to look for ways they can catch up before it is too late. They start feeling the stress and overwhelm creep up on them as the tax season starts to draw near. Oh my gosh, does this sound like a trailer to a horror movie to you? Well, I guess it is that time of the year when things start to get a little spooky, but I hope you are not in this situation. If you are, I’ll be going over these 3 simple tips for you in today’s episode. If you have fallen behind in your bookkeeping, don’t put it off any longer. Now is the time to really look at your financial statements and make sure you end the year exactly how you planned…or at the very least, you can end the year so that you are knowledgeable about your finances, and you can take advantage of any end of the year tax planning. You can certainly be strategic with tax deductions when you plan ahead, but if you wait until after the end of the year, it’s pretty hard to go back and make any changes. It doesn’t matter if you are using a computerized bookkeeping system like QuickBooks, Wave, Xero or FreshBooks or a manual system such as an Excel spreadsheet or Google Sheets, you need to have your bookkeeping in order so that you can prepare your tax returns, so why not make sure that this year’ books are up to date which will allow you to make smart year end business decisions. Whether you are just getting ready to start your small business, you’re a solopreneur, entrepreneur, small business owner, remote virtual online bookkeeper or virtual assistant, listen in and find out which of these three options you are going to utilize to wrap up your end of the year bookkeeping with this year…and believe it or not, now is the time to begin thinking about how you would like your bookkeeping to go next year…

Can you believe we are already in the fourth quarter of this year? If you are anything like me, it feels like these last three months of the year go by so quickly and before I know it, January is here, the holidays are over, and it is back to business as usual again. I really try hard to be as prepared as I possibly can be between both my personal life and my business during this busy time of the year, which is why I am covering how to get ready for the end of the year early in this fourth quarter for you. In our house, we do a lot of baking for the holidays…including those amazing cookies I talk about in my intro, so being prepared in my business is extremely important to me so that I have the time available to spend with my family. In today’s episode, I am going to walk through some of the main items you should be thinking about during this last quarter of the year, helping you be proactive and stay on track so that you are able to enjoy your holidays and not be stuck at the office crunching numbers when you’d rather be at home with friends and family. This is also my 50th episode of this podcast. I am so grateful to have so many listeners like you who consider it a valuable podcast. I truly enjoy receiving emails and comments about how this podcast is helping you with your finances, and in particular, your bookkeeping. In most cases, you don’t even need to spend any additional money, you just need to create your workflow system and stick to it. Once you have this down, you’ll see just how easy it is delegate tasks and make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes to getting work done.
